double-date friday night at my fave thai restaurant, suriya. some dishes weren't received as well as others but we had a blast.
we spent all saturday tromping about san francisco. we visited the ferry building, ran into a friend at sur la table, shoved a couple farmers market sample orange slices in our mouths, ate lunch outside in the cool sunshine, visited xanadu, an asian gallery located in frank lloyd wright's building in union square, found some can't-live-without sale items at zara, hit the swings at a park, rode a glass-walled hotel elevator, and stuffed ourselves silly with thai again and then fro-yo.
lands' end trail had my number for a mid-morning run on our monday holiday and then we found ourselves gawking at the giant windmill in golden gate park and the bright and friendly flowers. i always stop to smell the flowers. we stocked up on goodies from trader joe's, ordered a giant escape from new york pizza, and hunkered down for an afternoon of "fringe" episodes. for a break, we took an evening walk for a steamed milk from peet's, popped in walgreens for eye drops and paper towels, and then indulged in a dish of fro-yo before heading back to watch ben-hur.
a really great long weekend at home.
