i find myself wanting to be with my nieces today (not just today; pretty much every day) doing things little girls do: painting finger- and toenails; playing with dolls; twirling and skipping; helping mom in the kitchen; having our hair braided; changing dresses multiple times during the day; excitedly giving dad a hug and kiss when he walks through the door after being away all day at the office.
these were photos from last summer. they've both grown up in their own ways but they're still my little nieces and i love them dearly.
