guest-ready guest rooms -- by anthropologie.

i can get an email from anthropologie at least once a day, and i do not mind. today's headline read: is your guest room guest-ready? when i opened the email, i was aghast and thought, i wish i knew someone with a guest room as inviting and romantic [and over-the-top, let's be honest] as the rooms anthropologie put together in a marketing scheme to buy their delicious bedding. i mean, come on. how realistic are these rooms, really? i wouldn't mind getting lost in the layers and layers of one of those immensely fluffed and dressed beds but do i want to clean one or launder those sheets? no way, it looks too complicated. but if any of you, dear readers, feel the need to enhance your guest room as encouraged by anthropologie, give me a shout. i would be more than happy to spend a weekend reading, napping, and watching my favourite abc shows in one of those rooms.

on that note, i have 3 favourites: 2nd row on the left, and both on the last row. gosh i would love a cozy weekend watching football and playing with suzy in one of those beds with my husband bringing me bites of food like his grilled cheese sandwiches.

i've posted about anthropologie's incredible bedding here, here, and here.

i love naps.

i'm a strong proponent for naps. i have one almost everyday during my lunch break and often during the weekends. i love sleep. and i love my bed. i love a big, soft, inviting, cozy, fluffy bed to crawl into and curl up with suzy or hulu+. i could easily sleep in any of these places, even if it was only for a nap.

i am a sucker for chevron floors and chevron wallpaper and a chevron wall design.

pretty and nice spaces.

some public. some private. some living. some bathing. some sleeping. some eating. some old. some new.

there are elements in each photo that appeal to me: a diy copper coffee table; a hardwood and marble floor; over-the-top fancy wallpaper; white tiled bathroom with a large, open shower; polished hardwood floors; white cabinets; white bedding; framed art displayed on the floor; cool rugs; brick; ornate mirrors; large windows; exposed beams.

oooooh, i'd love to spend a day or two in each space.

showdown: the husband vs. the fluffy pretty bed--

and do you think the husband won? nope, he didn't. instead, i'm taking advantage of this as a prime opportunity for a loving compromise, and i think i've come up with a few agreeable and delightfully sleepy solutions. solutions even my basketball-statistics-manly-man won't mind curling up into for a sweet night of slumber [and snuggling].

mmmmmm... don't ya wanna curl up with a favourite book, favourite snuggler (isn't snuggling the best?), or with a great show on hulu or netflix and call it a night? i do!

i could never live in a place this glamourous--

or starkly white. everywhere. but vacation in? yes.

a truly beautiful apartment. that bedroom. those floors. that vanity. the workroom. the light fixtures and windows. just lovely. they call it a chelsea townhouse and it's in london. i would've thought it was paris.

a few good rooms and windows.

simply an assortment of room images i've collected over the weeks. all have at least a single aspect that i would like to adopt into my [someday] home. club foot tub? yes please. walls of windows? definitely. mid-century furniture? like you even need to ask.

pretty and ornate.

i assure you i recognize how over-the-top these rooms are in their frills and ruffles and feminine ornateness but i'm also head-over-heels enamored by those very feminine expressions. they feel like fancy powder rooms or where an absurdly luxe girlie sleepover would take place, or where kirsten dunst would be filmed licking her lips and eyeing a stack of macarons as marie antoinette in sophia coppola's 6th film. mmmm yum, macarons, i could go for my own little stack of those delicious treats right about now.

bedding bundles for sweet dreams.

i love the femininity of the new bedding bundles at anthropologie. they're perfectly designed for sweet dreams of vacations to paris and afternoons of macaron-stained fingertips; lazy mornings losing time turning pages of a great read; staying in on a friday night for movies and popcorn in bed.

random room collection.

i was catching up on my apartment therapy posts in my google reader over the long weekend and came across some fun rooms. some i loved for their colour scheme. others i loved for the furniture. others may just have a cool piece hanging on the wall, like the goat picture, which i love. and i'm always a fan of exposed beams/ceiling as pictured in the kitchen and guest room.
