a man's love affair with his cello takes a hard fall when the orchestra he performs with runs out of money. with his wife, he decides to move to his hometown and live in the house his mother left behind for him. he takes on a new job that isn't accepted by society until certain people see him perform the ceremony that is his new career. with that new acceptance comes closure, release, and a swelling of love.
a beautiful japanese film in every aspect. i highly recommend it.
