field ingredients.

imagine sitting at a dining table, eating a delicious meal, on the very property from which the food on your plate was harvested.

for $200, it can be real.

outstanding in the field is making it happen. they tour the country in their cute red and white van setting up tables and reconnecting diners with the origins of their food. after a tour of the site, everyone involved in the event sits down together at one of the giant tables and digs in.

i think it's a cool and wonderful idea--celebrate food; celebrate farms and farmers; celebrate a special occasion.

milk and toast -- a favourite and most nurturing combination. I like my milk ice cold with a straw (one of those cute paper straws with red stripes), or steaming hot, flavoured with a little vanilla and a lot of cinnamon. my toast -- usually two slices at once, and oftentimes flanked with apple slices or cheddar cheese -- is buttery and crunchy.

while growing old together with this blog, and watching it evolve, I've found joy in the milk and toast of my life, and have carved out a little place in the world wide web to record it. stick around, read a few entries -- perhaps you'll find something you love or can relate to.
