hooray!
hurrah!
yippee!
happy friday, friends! i hope you have a magical weekend planned. we all need a little magic in our lives, don't you think? maybe some springtime magic. spring is really trying to stand her ground around here but chilly breezes and cool temperatures are putting up a good fight. i love the cooler months but i think i'm ready for spring; the timing is finally right. and, let's be honest, there are so many cute spring clothes that need wearing!
this is another full weekend. tonight is a beach bonfire ('dogs and 'mallows included) birthday celebration and i'm hoping to swing by bob's doughnuts on the way home from the city. (they're magic doughnuts; the best. i kid you not. and i need to get my fill of sugar sugar before monday when i cancel unnatural sugars from my life 'til memorial day weekend.) saturday starts early with a mormon helping hands service project (i helped organize one in oakland last year). we're pulling weeds at point isabel to prepare the land for new plants. i love messing around in the dirt. after that is a multi-stake/area ysa conference which i have mixed feelings about--a bunch of singles hanging around in confined spaces forced to socialize, dancing, karaoke, workshops, lectures, food. my expectations are low so it should be an alright time. luckily, to top off the event, elder russell m. nelson of the twelve will be our fireside speaker. that is something to look forward to, indeed.
i'm hoping sunday will be quiet: church in the morning and then a nap. i need a long nap, desperately. and i'd like to turn a chunk of pages in the elegance of the hedgehog by muriel barbery. i'd love to hear your plans for this welcoming may weekend.
keep in touch!
love truly,
katie kate
