memorial weekend signifies, to most, me included, that summer is officially here.

and to welcome summertime, i'm heading southwest (after a 1/2 day at work--hooray!) to santa cruz where i rented a house with some friends. we're going to bbq, hang out on the beach, stuff our faces with grilled pineapple, ride bikes like a cool bike gang, eat ice cream, run around the beach with sparklers, ride the carousel and roller coasters, simmer in the hot tub, and do all other kinds of summer-y things.
