weekend scenes.

it was a great weekend. we saw alfred hitchcock's classic vertigo at oakland's historic paramount theatre with some friends after stuffing ourselves with burritos and nachos. it's a gorgeous old theatre. every time i visit, i imagine the old hollywood days--women wearing furs and men in tuxedos with top hats and canes mingling about the lobby and primping in the powder room. so grand.

saturday we ventured northwest to the heath ceramics showroom in marin--eye-popping handcrafted tile and tableware. we picked up a few items and i got to pet a few dogs. then we moved on to the car portion of our afternoon. for kicks and giggles, we stopped by the ferrari-maserati dealership. i'm always aghast that people actually buy these vehicles. the cars are totally ridiculous. the highlight of that stop was the trio of great danes we saw prancing along the lake path behind the dealership. for more car fun, we continued north to the subaru-mazda dealership for a test drive. i wasn't expecting to get behind the wheel of the swoon-worthy subaru outback wagon but before i knew it, i was cruising down the highway in the grand machine. (i'll take the subaru outback wagon over a ferrari-maserati any day!) the test drive route was awesome and it fully-cemented my want for it to be my car someday. someday.

on our way to a fruit market, we stopped by infinion raceway and watched a porsche race. it was cool and very loud and breezy but seeing the herd of sheep on the hillside and crossing the back road in front of us was far more thrilling. there was even a shepherd and sheepdog!

it was a great weekend. lots of cars. lots of fun.
