i could easily wear j.crew's pixie pant and steve madden's vegasss flat (in black suede; 'though glitter multi is super fun) everyday. it's the most perfect pairing of a tight legging-like pant (let's be honest: at some point in one's adult life, one must restrict the black cotton leggings to bedtime or lounging around a log cabin in front of a fire while snow falls outside and one is reading jane eyre for the 4th time) and a classic black flat; a look that was immortalized [for me] by style icon audrey hepburn in funny face.
one can't go wrong with this combination.they were meant to be together (like salt and pepper!), paired for eternity to walk to your neighbourhood cafe saturday morning in your favourite sweatshirt and sneakers or fancied up with a statement necklace and mini-dress for date night.
another thing: they're both as chic as they are comfortable. the flats took no time and no blisters to break in and the pants are good as gold as soon as you pull them on and flash the exposed zipper (a fun accent, i might add).
give up the leggings, m'dears. it's time. may they rest in peace.
