we adventured out friday night across town to our favourite san francisco pizza spot, goat hill pizza, and ate our fill of their amazing special combination--salami, pepperoni, italian sausage, ground beef, mushrooms, green bell peppers, green onions, black olives and garlic. their pizza is especially tasty because their crust is sourdough! scrumptious. it holds up perfectly for next-day pizza and we devoured the remaining slices at a picnic table in china camp park in san rafael on saturday. it was windy but the sun was out to warm us as we looked out over the north bay. from there we ran a couple errands--gap and target--before visiting an apartment for rent. it was a decent 2-bedroom apartment and in a great location in mill valley but the timing is not quite right. yet.
while my guy was making dinner--flank steak fajitas!--i called my dad to wish him a happy birthday. i'm not a fan of birthday phone calls. i'd rather be there for birthday hugs and kisses and ice cream cones.

after church together, and while the house was pretty quiet, we prepared a tasty sunday dinner: beef roast, roasted potatoes, cauliflower soup. the day was overcast--ideal to stay in the kitchen and cook. before our food comas kicked in, we played an exciting game of sorry!; my guy won--dangnabit. i came in 2nd and little one came in last. she's a dignified loser but i think she'll be out for blood next game; this is the 2nd time she's lost to me. i wasn't ready to say goodnight (the evening was still young) so we lazied on the couch to watch a movie and nap.
easy weekends like this make me so happy. i love my life.
