i considered a cat. i love cats. i grew up with cats and if i get a cat with a great personality they're a terrific housemate. but where would i put the litterbox? so i decided against a cat.
my thoughts moved on and i settled on a turtle. i love turtles and what an easy pet he would be. plus, my apartment gets wonderful light all the day long so a dry turtle like a box turtle would be totally happy sunning himself. then friends filled me in on turtles being salmonella carriers. eek!
finally, after talking with a colleague, i found my answer: a bunny! bunnies with those big floppy ears are absolutely adorable. alas, the cage for a bunny is larger than a box for a turtle and would take up considerable space in my apartment. while i haven't totally nixed the idea of a bunny for a housemate and pet, i've settled on my bunnylopes calendar by dandylionpress to see me through for now.

dandylionpress does lovely letterpress of furry, and not-so-furry, animals and creatures. the gold pocket watch is classy too. i'm a new fan after stopping by and chatting at the renegade craft fair. (my visit to the fair was perfectly successful. i grabbed the gifts i wanted and left before damaging my pocketbook further!)
if i could, i'd have both a turtle and a bunny. yes, please!
