yippee!
the first work week of the new year is over. bring on the weekend!
although my christmas break was deliciously long, there's nothing like a true weekend--especially after the brutal first week AFTER such a wonderfully long holiday. so here i am, back to pounding out notes on the laptop, and readying myself for a relaxing weekend—the work week was a bit mad—of sleeping in, afternoon naps, shopping, reading, and a movie.
like i've said countless times before, nothing makes me happier on the weekend than a lovely afternoon nap (sleeping in is not the same thing). chances are i'll have two glorious opportunities for such.
i'll read (i'm currently turning the pages of john irving's the cider house rules. grim.) and watch a movie or two—one will probably be alice in wonderland (favourite story and character of all time). i have a few versions and with the new one coming out in march (i can't contain my excitement!) i need to prepare.
i'll visit the vintage shop, the pretty penny, and see what all the fuss is about and maybe stop by cafe trieste for a slice of 4-layer chocolate cake. yummm...
