the first week back to real life is always the hardest to cope with after such a wonderfully long break. and while i'm wishing for a lazy weekend, it's probably best that it's busy so i don't fall back into my "home for the holidays" lazy rut.
a very good friend of mine is getting married this weekend. hooray! he and his bride will be married on moss beach in half moon bay and then on to san jose for the reception. her colours are classic for this time of year: silver, ice blue and navy. perfect. strings of white lights will set the tone for the reception and the house lights will remain low to maintain the romance of the day's earlier events. white tulle with silver bows will dress the chairs and vases in mixed shades of blue and tea lights will dance atop the tables. my wedding day duties are all those little details that guarantee a successful reception, particularly that the newlyweds eat--a critical element.
anyway, what are you up to this weekend? staying inside with a toasty fire in the 'place and woolly socks on your feet? writing or revising resolutions? it is a new year after all. start afresh. happy weekend!
