french mansion time capsule.

this french mansion was locked up for 100 years--100 years!--after its owner's death in 1905. after moderate restoration from insect and mold damage, it is now open to the public for viewing. i can't tell you how badly i want to visit and take it all in--the gilded leather in the uber-masculine bedroom (top right photo), the glowing candelabra with a red, white, and blue lightbulb in the patriotic lounge (left photo), and everything else. and i mean everything. what a trip it would be!

i snatched the link from my older brother so i'm pretty sure he'd go with me. now it's just a matter of actually getting there...
