a remarkable and humbling tale of four sudanese "lost boys" that wandered for miles and years to safety from their war-stricken home of sudan through the sub-saharan desert. they first ended up in a camp and then were selected to relocate to the united states as refugees.
while there are some comical bits as their boys learn about escalators and pre-packaged food, the weight of their plight is ever-present.
"god does not create me as very tall person for nothing. i have a role to play. i have a duty to do. ...i was born to do something." -- john bul dauwords to live by.
it's a film of sad tears and laughs and happy tears. fully-deserving of its awards.
