holiday weekend!

hurrah!
yippee!

a holiday weekend. a 3+ day weekend. the last one of the year and the one that signifies the end of summer. kids are back at school. summer hours at work have ended. pools are closing. it's fairly disappointing but now we have the fall season ahead of us and that brings halloween, bushels of fresh apples, college football, thanksgiving, boots and corduroy, wool sweaters, scarves, hats and gloves--i love the fall. although the calendar says summer is over, we're just starting our summer here in the bay area. temperatures are high in september and october which make it the best time to visit. hint hint.

so how will you celebrate the labour day weekend? one last hurrah at the beach or pool? camping trip or bbq? i intend to spend mine poolside soaking in some shady rays, in santa cruz stuffing my face with fried greasy goodness like corndogs and funnel cake, riding the giant dipper roller coaster and the carousel in my kitchen whipping up key lime pie, banana bread and my office-hero chocolate chip cookies to blondie, running trails in alameda or redwood regional park, and just hanging out. all things wonderful.
