for the long martin luther king, jr weekend, i headed northeast to moses lake, washington, to act on my favourite role as aunt. we played numerous rounds of candyland, spent a lot of time counting to twenty for hide-n-go-seek, cooked up strawberry-tomato soup in the play kitchen, read stories like dr. seuss's scrambled egg super! (pictured below) and corduroy, bounced on a radio flyer rocking horse, ate giant waffles smothered in strawberry jam and whip cream, had foot races, danced and twirled until we fell over from dizziness. it was perfect.

ellen's pretty funny. she doesn't know quite what to make out of photo booth in my mac and when i tell her to smile big she usually juts out her chin and closes her eyes. it's all very amusing.
