the sartorialist has started a blog series quizzing persons of fashionable recognition. i generally just glimpse through the postings but the one on
eva fontanelli, editor of
elle italia, really caught my attention. i think it was the first photograph--the colours are so vibrant and she's bursting with cute personality. heck, after the photos and reading the post, i'd give elle italia a quick browse just to find her voice in articles and eye in photo spreads. she seems refreshingly down-to-earth and fun to be considered such a fashion icon of our day. and all from that photograph of her leaning over the balcony in a bright orange striped tee.
a few of her responses to the questions posed by the sartorialist resonated with me and one made me smile:
how do you approach getting dressed?
i don't think too much of what is appropriate or not, i just dress to feel special.
when do you feel most feminine?
when i wear something special, sexy and fun at the same time...
favourite meal?
popcorn and vanilla ice cream, mixed together...
are you athletic?
i go everywhere on my bike and run with my dog--i also love to dance.
