the rains.

the rains are falling upon us again today and my spirit is weakening. don't get me wrong, it's still some of my favourite weather. it's just that i'm tired -- from being sick and from not being able to push my sickness through by exercise (a remedy that has always worked for me). and i'm tired from the work of last week and a few social obligations. so i'm tired, that's all. i want to be home with suzy and my hubs reading or working through the lord of the rings trilogy and a giant pizza from goat hill.

instead i'll dream of sheep, snowy farms, and rooms with cozy throws and sofas until my workday is done.

milk and toast -- a favourite and most nurturing combination. I like my milk ice cold with a straw (one of those cute paper straws with red stripes), or steaming hot, flavoured with a little vanilla and a lot of cinnamon. my toast -- usually two slices at once, and oftentimes flanked with apple slices or cheddar cheese -- is buttery and crunchy.
