the greatest photo of audrey hepburn ever.

as photographed by irving penn. an american photographer that emphasized beauty rather than fashion. and she had all the beauty any woman could ever want and couldn't buy. mr. penn was even able to capture the beauty of her soul in this stunning photo. you can just see it--her charm, her inner beauty, her kindness, how she found fun in everyday life. truly spectacular. well done.

a good photograph is one that communicates a fact, touches the heart, and leaves the viewer a changed person for having seen it; it is in one word, effective. irving penn

other intensely beautiful and fashionable irving penn photos. intense in their simplicity and lack of colour. how is it that grayscale photos are so remarkable? i mean, that netted face photo blows my mind.

i love the fashion art of that era. over-dramatized waistlines, accessories, necklines, makeup, and everything else. i want a giant print of each photograph and hang them in my [someday] farmhouse.
