mini workstation for your mini-me.
what a cute idea--setting up a mini workstation beside your home workstation/office for your little one(s). now when mom and/or dad work at home it can be shared time. adorable. i know i would have loved this when i was a kid. i loved all that worky-work stuff--playing calculators, typing on my dad's computer, making imaginary receipts.

toy animal crush: blueberry, sir hopsalot, and ruuna.
there is something about furry felted animals that pulls my heart strings--tug tug. let me introduce you to my latest animal crushes: ruuna, blueberry, and sir hopsalot, all needle-felted with natural merino wool, from forestblue factory based out of the netherlands. it's impossible to pick a favourite out of those three but if i had to, if my life depended upon it, i'd choose sir hopsalot. you see, even though having a bunny for a pet (i miss you, uncle sundby!) didn't work out, i'm still a bunny lover.
but, oh, ruuna is perfect and blueberry has so much personality. too hard to choose. too hard!

cute kids.
kids being kids. walking fence posts. making silly faces at the camera. tightly hugging each other. being curious. i guess sometimes i am a kid again.

there's something about wooden kid toys. love 'em. especially the classic wooden toys: blocks, trains, pound-a-peg.

bears and rabbits.
i was flipping through one of martha stewart's magazines and came across these precious handmade stuffed animals by fox and owl. they're ever so stylishly vintage and would look quite at home on a vintage sofa piled amidst the friendly pillows.
the bears bring to memory a similar-looking stuffed bear of my maternal grandparents'. he wore a red checkered button shirt, red pants, and had the same scruffy fur. when i was a young'n, i preferred new toys to old ones (even if the toy was new but looked old, i wouldn't be interested); i hadn't yet acquired that taste for the vintage look. makes me sad to think now that he may not have gotten much play time. i hope he's well in whatever home he ended up in amongst my siblings and cousins.

woolly world.
enter the woolly world of sara carr. be enchanted by sydney the hedgehog and race around the tree with hugo the dog. monty the fox and baby will dart about and beryl the owl will wonder whooooo will be out tonight for some stargazing.
homemade wooden toys for children.
the children's toys by u.s. wood toys will roll right into your heart. they're adorable (see the image below and tell me you don't agree.), made in the u.s.a., bursting with love to give (they yearn to love and giggle.), and totally affordable. how can you say no?

a rhinoceros on wheels would sure be cute. so would a duck.

little lamb will follow.
wherever she went, lamb-ee followed--down stairs to watch tv with mommy and daddy; into the kitchen for a bite of ice cream with grandpa; into auntie's room with kisses to share.
made of real sheepskin, lamb-ee (named in honour of my niece) is the perfect pull-along toy for any little tyke. for me, the price is a little steep at $156.20 for a baby toy, but lamb-ee is undoubtedly adorable.

lunch fun.
thanks to the shop essentials blog, i'm pretty sure i just stumbled upon one of the cutest things ever: lunchpunch sandwich cutters.
if i was packing lunches for little ones, i'd drop in all kinds of different shapes. my favourite is dash--the dog and his dog house. adorable. eloise and tootie--the elephants--are pretty loveable too.
i'd lunchpunch peanut butter and jelly, tuna salad, egg salad, and even shake things up at brunch with lunchpunched french toast.

dolls for baby.
i realize these boogaloos dolls by blabla are intended for children but i'm kinda falling in love with them. they're odd and quirky and adorable. mr. x is fancy with all that fringe and zook is classy in his stripes. but of the dolls, i really love giant pumpkin. she looks sweet and like she could've been my best friend when i was a kid.

am i too old to ask for a doll for my birthday?

duck duck ducki!
i don't have a baby of my own but if i did—and when i do—you can bet a few of these DANO duckis will be floating about in baby's bath. probably one in every colour. bathtime just wouldn't be as much fun without a little rubber ducki, or two.

designed by the husband of a dear friend of mine and made in the usa.
