it's about the pixie cut.

i have this dream that my hair could grow back to the length it was before cutting it off within a week's time because then i'd have the liberty to cut it anytime i found a cute pixie cut like this.

short hair gets me, every time. and this cut is terrific. (as is the camera angle.)

when my hair is long enough--

i'm going to be more creative and actually do stuff with it, like a mermaid tail braid, a gibson roll, braided top buns and all kinds of other styles.

for the record, i am a huge fan of a classic straight ponytail. easy and always fashionable.

pixie hairstyles.

sometimes, when i see beautiful women with grown-out pixie cuts, i'm overcome by a moment of desperate weakness. i see how lovely it looks and i want it.

then i start missing my short hair. my short short hair.

but i like my grown-out hair. sometimes, oftentimes, i have to consciously remind myself of that fact because sometimes, always sometimes, i'm weak, very weak, when it comes to short hair.

bleaching my hair out has always been in the back of my mind. just to see what platinum blonde hair would look like on me. it'll probably never happen, though. it's all a game of curiousity.

it's 2011. i'm itching for a new 'do. maybe i'll go back to my blunt bob and bangs days. those were fun. a good look on me. thoughts?

braids and eyelashes.

this is elle fanning, younger sister to dakota fanning. i adore her braided hair and that adorable grin makes me wonder, what does she know that i don't. isn't she so cute?

after coming across these pictures, i'm curious and excited to see her leading performance in phoebe in wonderland.

girl friday.

i don't know kater personally (i'd like to imagine if we bumped into each other at a farmers market we'd be fast friends) but i saw her photos on joanna's blog, a cup of jo, and immediately fell in love with her lipstick, hairstyle, and freckles. what lovely fall photos.

i'm so clumsy when it comes to hairdos that i doubt i could pin my hair into a side chignon well enough to make it look nice and for it to keep longer than thirty minutes--especially without a massive dousing of hairspray. maybe i'll give it a whirl one of these days when i'm feeling extra adventurous.
